Try Lufkin BBQ. It ain't Lockhart or Elgin, but it'll do in a pinch. Their fried biscuits are awesomeness all on their own.

one of the only things that people in lufkin have to go to nac for

Baloney. Why would I drive a half hour to Nac now that Angelina county is wet?

Lufkin BBQ is good. I prefer Pit Stop just outside the loop on Hwy 69 South.
