Congressman Louie Gohmert (R-Dist. 1, TX) will be here to speak February 2, as of right now. When I find out what room we have and other details I'll update this post. Just wanted to get the word out early in case some of you are interested!

Mr. Gohmert has recently been in the news for his proposed "Tax Holiday" Bill this coming year.

Here's his website for any other info:

What was the deal him going from No Income tax for 2009 to No income tax for 2 months? When I heard the first proposal, I thought, "No way that will fly."

His very first rant was for the year.

In the original discussion he may have mentioned the year, however when it went from an idea to crafting a bill it became 2 months. Possibility of getting a tax free year is not likely, getting a 2 month holiday is a possibility.

Louie joins a group of us for lunch on Friday's when he is in Tyler. Great time and he provides a lot of behind the scene information. Lucky to have him in DC.

I think he's a hard charging Ag that is trying to make a difference. We'll see how the two month proposal pans out. I know the one yr plan was very optimistic.
