I was born and raised in Tyler (Chapel Hill to be exact) and my parents are still there enjoying their farm life. For anybody who has kids, here's a great weekend idea:
Pappy's Pumpkin Patch at the Bell Family Farm will be open every Friday and Saturday from now until Nov 1, 10am til dusk. Admission is free, they just ask that you buy a pumpkin or two to support the farm. There's a hay ride, a barrell train for the kids, face painting, scarecrows and all kinds of fun things to do.
This is their second year doing this and they really enjoy helping people make fun family memories. The farm is about a mile outside the loop on Hwy 64 (behind Villa Montez-the old Mansion on the Hill).
Check out bellfamilyfarm.com for a map and pics from last year. Thanks
