I'll be in Texarkana in a few weeks and am looking for a good place/bar to have some drinks and listen to some music on a Thursday night. Anyone have any ideas?

Fat Jacks is an ok place to go, they might have a band in the back.

Shooter is a bigger bar and will most likely have either karoke or a band.

But be warned......you will either see a fight or be in a fight no matter where you go in that dump of a town.

I thought Fat Jack's burned to the ground, again, for the fifth time.

Last thing that I herd about fat jacks was when the car drove through the front.

It might have, I would not know, but I was there on Saturday and went to "Club Next" from 2:00 until 3:00, DO NOT GO THERE FOR ANY REASON!!!!

That place was more than a little shady!!!

Timothy's is a high end place to get drinks. no music, though

Is The Pines still open? You could try the Ace of Clubs out by the airport.

I went there about 2 years ago and saw 3 fights, one of which invloved 2 chicks!!!!

OK, I went to Shooters and there wasn't a whole lot happening. Maybe because it was a Thursday night? Anyway, it's as good a place as any to have some beer while you're stuck in Texarkana I suppose...and I didn't see any fights, lol.

I went to Shooters one time after a wedding in Texarkana. We took a cab back to the hotel (yes, in Texarkana, we could barely stand) and the cabbie played the guitar while driving. It was pretty awesome, to say the least. No fights witnessed while at Shooters either. Now, Buster Mcnutty's in Livingston, yeah I've seen some fights there.

I'm so disappointed that you did not get to see a good old fashion blood bath!!
