Big Pines isn't all that great, actually.
Not sure what kind of food you want but there is a restaurant on the square in Linden that is called Tin Star that is pretty decent and a new restaurant in Atlanta called Silver Spur that has gotten mixed reviews (but they serve alcohol, which is a first for Cass County). I haven't eaten at SS but it might be worth a try. Tommy's BBQ on Hwy 59 south (between Atlanta and Linden) is awesome though. Native Atlanteans also enjoy Dixie Maid for hamburgers, Jack's Fine Food for the tacos and Swiss Boy sandwich and Taco Re'al for the salsa and thepoor interpretation of Mexican food (I order the chicken quesadillas).
Other fish restaurants to consider would be Vaughn's between Linden and Douglassville, Spruell's in Doddridge, Arkansas (about a 15 minute drive from Atlanta) and Pier 27 (also in Arkansas on Blackmon Ferry Road, I believe).
Jefferson has a good selection of restaurants and things to do- not sure what you enjoy but there are bars, antique shops (some nice, mostly junk), the riverboat, historic home tours, etc.
There is also Caddo Lake (where Big Pines is located) which is a lot of fun and they do have tours.
