Just drove through there and sped through their chitty construction zone. Then I threw a beer can out of the window.

lufkin is just one big o'l nasty ghetto

I was born and raised there, and I cannot argue with the above statement. Everyone of our graduating class of 1981 that had ANY aspirations of bettering themselves got out ASAP and have never returned.

Good neighborhoods where my friends grew up are now ghettos with broken down cars in the driveways, crime is everywhere, and kids bouncing basketballs walking up and down the street all hours of the night.

I hate to say it but there is nothing in Lufkin to make someone want to raise a family there.

I'm enjoying it. I live in a crime free neighborhood, my wife teaches at a crime free elementary, and I "bettered" myself then moved back to be close to family.
