How long do you want to ignore this user?
With Pennypacker's suggestion of a chimichanga to Ditka on the Wink thread, I came to the horrible realization that a board titled "West Texas" does not have a thread dedicated to Allsups. So, here it is.

My top three choices are:
-of course, the world-famous beef and bean burrito (two of them with a 32 oz. Tallsup Dr. Pepper) with approximately 1 1/2 taco sauce packets per burrito
-popcorn chicken: when Sonic introduced it, it was a blatant attempt to steal market share from Lonnie Allsup
-BBQ sandwich: there have been times when it's obviously been sitting there for a while, and the bbq and bun somehow manage to meld into one continuous, unseparable entity...why, I don't know, but I love it

1. Chimichanga with Allsups Taco Sauce(always replicated but never duplicated.....or something)

2. Corn Dog w/ Allsups Mustard

3. Spicy Popcorn chicken.

In actuality, I've been eating Allsups for the better portion of my 21 years, and I don't recall that I've ever had a chimichanga. I think there's a chimi faction and a burrito faction to Allsups' eaters, and some like me never cross the line.

I agree, you've gotta love the corn dog and Allsups mustard.

My dad is a fan of the simple and understated hot link and white bread.

Ever try a "Mexiburger"?

MARK MY WORDS, YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS LATER IN LIFE......YOUTHFUL FOOD INDESCRECION WILL BE YOUR BAIN. AND THEN YOU'LL WONDER WHY YOUR INSURANCE WILL COST SO MUCH. LEARN, LEARN,

Just go look at any DQ or pay attention to the old farts my age when they walk into Allsups for their morning coffee. Think any of them have seen their shoes while standing in years?!

Sorry, I switched into a Bill Snyder mode.

Eat what you want. [/laughing to my self]

WestTX06: I understand that the Allsup Chimichanga might be a little too blue for your blood. I, on the other hand, only eat the finest that the culinary world has to offer.

Growing up, I never had a Chimi bc it was like twice as expensive as a bean burrito. So, my Mom would always get me the two burrito and tallsup special. However, that all changed when I started wearing big boy pants.

Since reaching the age of self-determination, I have spared no expense lavishing myself and feeding my changa habit.

emc....you sound like my vegan friend. He eats no meat, only soy. Veggies out the wazoo. Nothing that aint natural.

So far this year, the dude has used 21 sick days. Spring and Fall allergies kick his azz. Always complains about stomach and bowel problems. Our HR dept is on a first name basis with him because they file so many insurance claims for him.

Bottom line, ALL things in moderation. That is why I've cut back to two fried burrittos a day.

squid,

You are very wrong. I will chow down on the best of Twin Mountain Scraps or Zentner's tenders with the best of them.

I spent too many years after graduating working from San Angelo to Lamesa to Monahans to Presidio to Del Rio eating the Town and County and Allsups food for breakfast and/ or lunch.

It is just funny to sit back, much older and wiser (yea, right) reading a discussion on "good" food from a WT convenience store, that's all. And what is bad, I could probably give you some recommendations on what is still good!

At least this is a forum you can come to and not get beat on!!!

This thread by far has to be one of the finest ever posted on Texags.

Funny stuff.

Being in Dallas and hundreds of miles from the nearest Allsups, I just got really homesick and hungry.

lp01, I'm in College Station, so you're closer to an Allsup's than I am. I should never have started this thread, because now I'm sitting here in the Blocker Computer Lab with my mouth watering, thinking about going in to Allsups, hobnobbing with all the white trash of Stamford, and eating great (I use the term in a unique manner) food.

Hey I also miss home Chopper. They have some Freds discount stores here in Florida. Well every time I pass by one I get hungry from some BBQ from Freds in Monahans.

Fred's BBQ was great stuff, we used to eat there every Sunday after church (well, pick it up and take it home). I don't even know if they're still in business.

While living in an apartment on the loop in Midland, I once had the best of both worlds. I went to the drive through at Rosa's and bought a large queso, then I stopped by Town & Country and got two burritos. Once I got home, I proceeded to smother the burritos in the queso and eat them with a fork. It was one of the greatest moments in my life.
