Traveling through there this month and meeting old friends; any good ideas for restaurants that DON'T specifically prohibit firearms by 30.06 statute?

The Shed BBQ - you won't be disappointed. Beehive, Joe Allen's, and Lytle are also good.

If you don't mind driving out of town a ways, Perini Ranch Steakhouse in Buffalo Gap is some of the best meat I've ever had

Those are both great. The Beehive or Vagabond pizza(Aggie owned) if you find yourself downtown

La Popular for breakfast burrito.
Hickory Street Cafe is good for lunch salads/sandwiches.
The Local, downtown, had good tacos.
+1 on Vagabond

Vouch for Beehive and Perini Ranch. My go to's when I'm in that area.

Perini also has the best bread pudding I have ever had. Strange that the best is in Abilene area.
