Not sure about 'nice' but there's a ice cream / old timey looking place just off Broadway and just across from campus that actually has really good BBQ.

Nice I'm not sure but unique, Gardski' Loft but I really like their burgers.

I like Double Nickel.

How did it go? I had The Conversation with my then girlfriend's dad in Lubbock too, at The County Line. It shut down and it makes me sad.
