This is nuts. It happened Monday, but I haven’t had time to post about it. My wife recently just stopped going to the north side Walmart because of the distance from our house. She originally started going there because the Sherwood Walmart is always a madhouse and she was very unhappy with HEB until they finally changed some stuff around (turns out, when you complain, HEB takes action).

I am surprised at the backlash I saw initially about why did they have to shot the guy. I figured it save Tom Green Co some $$$. Rabid dogs....

Then I wonder when HshEB is going to open another location. That one is always a zoo.

Where? Sams and Walmart have west Angelo covered and there's no room in east or south to do it.

Opening in Angelo North will have the same problems as the Walmart.

Not sure, but heard from a good Aggie bud in Angelo today that there are going to be 2 more Wallyworlds in Angelo soon...

I guess all the local mom and pop stores need to go ahead and shut down.

Folks will save a few pennies and then ask where all the local stores have gone...

I heard recently that there is a plan to put one on South Bryant before you get to the crossover bridge by Calvert Collision. Apparently, they have been in talks for over a year or something. Seems like a weird place to put one, but it'll be nice to have something closer to the south side!

My sources said the south Bryant location was depending on some property purchases. Sounds like a hold out or for more $$ since Walmart already has the rest of the needed property. Certainly on the face a strange location, but think of all the subdivisions it will be closer to and easier to get to. plus traffic through town.

All of the mom and pop nonsense is laughable. They were gone long before Walmart. Over priced stores like Sears, JC Penny and other over priced anchor stores were the victims of Walmart.
