A friend saw the Federales there, but that was a long time ago, before 9/11. I don't think it's that bad since it's just a village in the middle of nowhere. i wouldn't eat or drink anything there though.

It's a great idea. There isn't a whole lot to do, but that little village is fairly dependant on people crossing and in turn the villagers are very friendly. If you love the landscape of the Big Bend region (like I do), then you will have plenty to keep you occupied for a few hours.
