I do water resource/environmental engineering, and seeing those prices make me twinge a bit. Granted, there's a big difference between a residential well and a full TCEQ public supply well...but jeeze.
Anyone saying they can drill a well for 3-8k I wouldn't trust as far as I could throw them.
I can't imagine what kind of materials they're using for casing/screening. You know they're not gravel packing or cementing the annular space.
I wouldn't be surprised to see in 3-4 years stories of lots of wells around town getting all contaminated from the increased activity.
