any reccomenations? Cost?

Good luck finding a driller right now. Id start with Stanley Latzel from Midkiff.

We had one put in (at a house we are renting) and I was talking to the guy running the crew. Told me they are around $8,500 for a 50 foot well. It was a company out of Stanton, dont know the name.

Got one lined up for $2500 (100ft) plus 50 bukcs for a permit, no pump or tank though. I will have to have that done separately. Our maintenance guy at the office siad he has done several and can get it done for us.

THis is a must have since I am building.

AG1996, where are you building? I've heard people are having trouble finding ground water off of Mockingbird.

Grassland west. Neighbors all hitting good wells.

2500 is a good deal right now. Most are running around 8000 due to the demand right now. 2000-3000 is the norm price under normal circumstances.

I do water resource/environmental engineering, and seeing those prices make me twinge a bit. Granted, there's a big difference between a residential well and a full TCEQ public supply well...but jeeze.

Anyone saying they can drill a well for 3-8k I wouldn't trust as far as I could throw them.

I can't imagine what kind of materials they're using for casing/screening. You know they're not gravel packing or cementing the annular space.


I wouldn't be surprised to see in 3-4 years stories of lots of wells around town getting all contaminated from the increased activity.
