I will be in Midland the weekend of March 2nd. I have an interview that Friday, and will be staying there through the 4th. If there are any Ags that would be willing to meet me for lunch/dinner or a beer, I would be happy to treat. I would like to find out the ins and outs of the town as I contemplate making the move there.

If you go to the Hemingway and look for the big bearded guy wearing glasses, a gray polo, jeans and black boots you will find me. You could also yell "bourbon," but you might very well look like a fool. Any one else reading this is welcome to join. I am probably going to go about 430 to grab a table.

Thanks for the responses. I wish I could have met up with some of you. I was unable to book a hotel room, so I had to change it to a day trip. The interview went well enough, and I should hear back from them next week. Now, finding a place to stay if I get a job offer is appearing to be quite the challenge.

SRY, you are finding out it's not really hard to get a job in Midland (if you have any skills) right now, finding a place to live is all together a different story!

The only way to get a place it seems is to have a realtor who knows of property going on the market and putting in the asking price bid beforehand.

I was offered transfers to San Antonio (lateral) and Midland (promotion). I found virtually nothing, and even apartments and condos have lengthy waiting lists in Midland/Odessa. For cost of living and housing availability, San Antonio made it a no-brainer.

I've been told by many people "it feels like 1983 again"



If i had any stock, I'd start shorting like it's 1985 again after mid-level executives/managers are buying $100k sports cars.
