My wife got me this book for Christmas. (it came out July 2010, so that's still new enough to call it new)

We both read it cover to cover this past trip to Big Bend over New Year's Eve, which I think enhanced the reading experience since we've been to several of the places mentioned in the book where others met with misfortune.
I lurk on this board every now and then and enjoy the stories by Fossil and others. The book got me curious to know if anyone here knew any of the people or events depicted; and could share any of their knowledge, just for the sake of satisfying my curiosity.
If you enjoy Big Bend or hiking in general, this is a great addition to pick up for your library. I've got no financial interest in the book, I just appreciate good stories so I thought I'd pass it along.
