I had no idea WONDERLAND has so many nice rides. Is this what used to be Kiddieland in Thompson Park or something different??

I think it has been called Wonderland for as long as I remember.

So, interesting article, the authors totally missed the point, probably intentionally

Amarillo Is One of The Top Spontaneous Destinations In Texas

The Lone Star State did really well in this recent study. El Paso was the top city in Texas for spontaneous trips. Amarillo, Texas, came in just behind El Paso, making it second in the Lone Star State and third overall. Winston-Salem, North Carolina, was the top city in the nation...

How Was Amarillo Determined To Be A Top Spontaneous Trip Destination?

The study, done by Vio.com, looked at the average number of days hotel rooms were booked in advance as one of their key metrics. In Amarillo, people tend to book a hotel room 1.4 days in advance on average. That means people wait until the last minute to book their hotel rooms, which means the trip was pretty spontaneous.

So if you read that from a Amarillo Chamber of Commerce view, you interpret it as there are people all over the state and nation, who are sitting around and suddenly decide to go somewhere for the weekend....and they choose Amarillo.

Yeah, probably not.

Much more likely, is that you have people traveling down I-40, I-27, 87, 287, who are on the way someplace else, and decide they are tired of driving, get on their phone, and book a room in the nearest big city along their route: Amarillo

Hey, I agree there are attractions, but other than PD Canyon, no one is doing an impulse trip to AMA

The least spontaneous destination in the U.S. is Honolulu, Hawaii. People book their rooms 47.2 days in advance when heading out to catch a luau.

Duh. A trip to Hawaii is not an impulse trip or a stop on the way to anywhere else, except is extreme cases
