It's on the southside of town, off 288.

Anybody ever been? Any reviews?

Smitty's in Lockhart is great. Have no idea about a place called Smitty's in H-Town.

Damn it Bohunk you had to bring up Smitty's in Lockhart! That is my favorite BBQ place in Texas.

Bohunk - The Czaress is a big blues/jazz fan, but not many places have live music Monday nights (apparently this Smitty's place does). I figure we'll try it out, and if it blows we'll hit up The Big Easy or a small bar she likes on Westheimer & the Beltway, whose name currently eludes me

I used to live over near there (like 7 yrs ago)...only one I ever went to over there was Sherlock's. Probably more sh-t over there now, huh?

There and Louie Mueller's in Taylor are money.

Louie Muellers is great, but I prefer Smitty by a wide margin and that is not knocking Louie Muellers.

So it turns out the real name of this place is Smitty's Louisiana Sports Cafe. The honkey quotient never went above 6, as it seems this is an all-black sports bar with a Monday night jazz jam. The Czaress (after being initially bothered by the fact I was taking her to a ghetto sports bar on our anniversary) ended up loving the place for the good jazz being played and the random old guys (who you expect to see playing chess in the park) who would get up and start tapdancing to the random songs (all the while I was watching sports highlights). It was quite a spectacle.

All night I was fully expecting someone to come up and say "Do you mind if we dance with your dates."

That sounds like a cool place.
