This thread was fun the first time around, too.

and go to a bank where the teller knows you by your first name

I have never understood this. I don't want random people knowing who I am all the time. Especially at the bank. Where they have my money. And can steal it.

All I have to say is if you don't like sugarland, go live in the city. Then when you come back you will appreciate sugarland just a little more......

Best thing about richmond is no lines for drivers license or passports.

TK03, if they know you by name, then they're not really random people are they? Tough to get your mind around I guess. Why live in Sugar Land versus the city? There's something to be said for an urban lifestyle, but what's the point of the suburbs--the yards are no bigger, it's nothing but chain eateries and shopping, no culture (museums, theatre, etc), and you have to fight traffic. It's cheaper than the city, I guess. But is that the only thing that Sugar Land has going?

I used to live in Washington DC, and the suburbanites were always pathetic from the urban view looking out. Just like they are from the small town/rural view looking inward. Face it, instead of the best of both worlds, yall've managed to capture the worst of both.

I have lived in both Sugar Land and Rosenberg (currently) and Rosenberg SUCKS! The town is trashy with the exeception of the new area by 59. The thing that pisses me off about people here, is they all think they are "country" and try to act it. Dressing in western wear does not make you country, you live in the CITY of Rosenberg.

Didn't expect to revisit this topic today.

What if you live in the "city" of Rosenberg and work in the country? Can you still wear jeans and boots then?

So the new Rosenberg along 59 is nice? It's an eye sore. I guess anytime you see crappy chain eateries, big box stores, and uniformly built houses crammed on top of each other, you're in heaven. Sad.

If you don't like living in Rosenberg, just move back to Sugar Land. It's not like it's a long way away.

I wear boots and jeans, but I never claim to be country. Wear whatever the heck you want.

I don't like sugar land either, too crowded. When I said nice, I meant that it does not look run down like the rest of rosenberg like kroger and pretty much everything else along hwy 90 for example. You don't have to be rich to keep an area nice, just time and effort.

Hey.......I build those little crack houses stacked on top of each other, right behind those big box stores.

I live out in the country and drive into Rosenberg to work, can I still wear boots?

Well, glad you were able to move out here to help us all out with our wardrobe. By the way, did you ever stop to think that Rosenberg used to be a country town until it had its recent growth spurt and Houston crept closer to it? I guess all of those idiots in the Berg should change their ways now that you've moved here. Also, as to moving back to Sugar Land, I can see how you don't like it due to the size. But if you don't like the Berg, just move somewhere else.

By the way, good seeing you the other night, Sugar Land Wes.

AH HA! Now that I have put 2 and 2 together, this thread is even more awesome.

Congrats on the baby! Hope everything is going well.

Haha. Wondering if you'd figured that out.

Thanks. Too bad we didn't get to stay at the party longer. By the way, what were you doing at a party in Richmond anyway?? I'm just saying.

Wow, 05AG. I just realized something. In the travel forum, you announced that you are thinking of going to Gatlinburg for your honeymoon. Then you come on this thread and proclaim that Rosenberg is trashy.

Ahh, the irony. I guess it's fitting that you live in Rosenberg, then. Maybe you can line up w/ the other white trash to get married by a toothless Elvis impersonator in Gatlinburg.

Way to show class, you just made Rosenberg proud. Called me white trash just because I do not like Rosenberg. One, I'm not getting married in Tennessee, two I know nothing about Gatlinburg or the area that's why I asked. That's one reason people come to these boards to get info from other Ag's, but I'm guessing your a know it all and need no help.

BTW,the surround small towns around the berg are nice, but LONG before Sugar Land expanded, the area had high crime rates for a city this size and I have a lot of respect for Rosenberg PD, they put up with so much for so little money. I know someone with the Fire department and we always hear about them chasing armed and dangerous people every night. The demographics of people do not show "country."
