We have engineered hardwood in the kitchen (not sure why Highland puts wood in the kitchen) and we had a dishwasher leak. I need to replace (don't think it can be sanded) about 25 planks. It's all dry now and the boards have cupped along the seams. It's too noticeable to live with. Anyone have a referral/recommendation for a flooring repair person in the Katy area?

Unless you have a pile of them stashed in boxes or put them in very recently, it's going to be very difficult if not impossible to match them. My cell is in my profile. I can connect you with a good flooring guy who can do the labor for you. I can also connect you with my flooring supplier and can give you my pricing on flooring if you need to buy new flooring. I've spent a crazy amount on flooring in the last 12 months (probably close to $200,000) and can get pretty good pricing on most types of flooring there.

I'll disagree, good flooring guys can.

We remodeled our kitchen/dining room and had 1995 hardwood floors, the flooring folks were able to find LOTs to match the existing and you can't tell new from old.

I'll look and see if I can find their contact info.

Hardwood =/= Engineered Wood.

Engineered below with a hardwood "veneer" top - can be sanded and stained a few times?

Maybe it's my misunderstanding of the flooring.

Some engineered products can be "screened" once, not all. OP's have cupped. Forget about it.

OP, Highland was the builder. What year? Do you have extra material in a box with the label on it?

We had a sewer backup and had to replace everything due to discontinued material. We used EZ Floors on 1463. They did work for us in the past in a different house and we were happy with them, so we used them again. I highly recommend them.
