Another item related to this - does anybody know if they kept the QuickLane service people from Tommie Vaughn? And do any points accrued from service there remain in place?

With both trucks I bought there I always did the oil change, tire rotation, and other standard service stuff. I priced it all out going to other places and getting the points for discounts, etc it all came out a lot better and the people were great. I'm due for an oil change and 80,000 mile service and have called but can't get a response.

That lack of response is concerning because TV folks were always responsive and if they aren't now I don't think that bodes well.

I got the oil in my Mustang changed there a few weeks ago, after the purchase.

So, the Quick Lane is open, but I couldn't tell you if it's the same people.

I just picked up my truck from TV Quicklane from getting the oil changed. The guy behind the counter was new, and the two employees (one older lady, one younger guy) that were always there previously were not. Not sure if they're out today, or for good.

I made my appointment online and selected Quicklane, but their system made the appointment in the regular service area, so the guy had to call and get permission to move it over to Quicklane.

I haven't yet been able to get an answer as to whether or not my lifetime powertrain warranty from TV is still in effect with the ownership change. That's really the only reason I get my oil changed there as it's not convenient, but it got me the inevitable cam phaser replacement done for $100 a couple of years ago.

Yup. Group 1 is going the AutoNation route where they want their brand to be the prominant featured thing. I kind of respect that more than pretending you're a local mom & pop dealer by using the previous guy's name. Houston is full of so many transplants its not like most local car buyers have ties to any of these legacy names family names. I don't care if its called Joe Myers Ford or was honest and called it Berkshire Hathaway Ford.
