Comes with 15 ft 50A power cord for a transfer switch application to power your home. The only use it has ever seen was when guitarsoup borrowed it during the derecho when he lost power. They are $1300 on HD right now so I think $800 is fair? I honestly can not recall what I paid for it.

This is a great deal for anyone looking for a generator. I have a similar Champion and have no complaints. Ran it for 4 straight days after the derecho and then a whole week after Beryl.

I'm honestly surprised the folks buying our house don't want it. We offered them a big package deal for a ton of stuff that makes life on a SETX property easier and they declined almost all of it. We even have the transfer switch or whatever set up.

Pretty dumb on their part, unless they are planning on putting in a whole home generator or something.

Yea and I have a zero turn I installed a switch on to pull my towable sprayer and they wanted the sprayer but not the mower. We offered them an extreme discount on all the supplies needed to finish remodeling the kitchen in the manner we did the coffee bar we just put in and then we offered a ton of chemicals and stuff for pest control, fertilizer, weed control etc and they didn't want that either. Plus a bunch of stuff that made the property look nice. Would have been about 25 cents on the dollar for everything but oh well their loss. Offered them the mower for $1700 plus an extra discount if they bought everything and I just sold it for $2200 lol.

Do we have the same homebuyers? LOL

I sold my home and offered the buyers (young couple, wife pregnant) my Duromax 1300 tri-fuel + relevant hoses.

Gave them 2 weeks, and they never responded, so I sold it for more to someone else.

And then we see the potential storm in the gulf. Will laugh if it knocks the power out.

The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But, it's still on the list.

The previous owners had the gas line ripped out of the property and I tried and tried to get center point to install a new one but they sure didn't want to take my money so no whole home generator for the new owners anyways.

Sea Speed let me borrow this a while back when we were out of power for a week. I then immediately went to Costco to buy one and still haven't pulled it out of the box.

The Champion ran beautifully and was much appreciated. Super easy to start and ran like a top. This was great and I would definitely recommend it to anyone that needed one.

Spending $10k or more for a whole house generator that may be used once or twice a year doesn't make sense to me.

I can run almost my entire house off my portable, which I paid less than a grand for. Yes, I do have to set it up to use. It's not automatic. But, much cheaper.

It's all marketing. People get scared seeing the commercials which run constantly during hurricane season.

I can run almost everything on my Champion 7k, but if I travelled for work my wife would have gotten a Generac installed.

hey bud, I think paying for Aggie NIL is pretty fkin stupid. Which is what your handle indicates.

Pumping money into a losing football program is a worse bet than home ownership and all that. But that's your call.

It's called minding your OWN business.

They're probably counting on you leaving it behind anyway. Easier than taking it to Habitat and hazardous waste

The extra money is for when the power unexpectedly goes and your wife says go hook it up and you say, 'give it a few more minutes and see if it comes back on itself', knowing that the power will come back 3 minutes after you hook the loud ass generator up and get it running.

Anyone have an estimate for what it would cost to add a quick connect into an existing service line?

I have two potential locations - one at the main meter and another at the pool heater.

I had one plumber out last weekend for an estimate and that came back at $900+ - which seems like a lot to me.

2 problems with your plan. First, this generator is gasoline and propane, not natural gas. Second, dude is gone. He hit the road today. Or, at least that was his plan.

Neither of those are problems for my situation - I have my own generator.

Just using this thread to ask the question as I couldn't find the longer thread on generators from a while back.

That's high.

Where are you located?

I had Tony's Plumbing come out a couple years ago and charge $425 to add the line/ball valve to my meter.

He did add the quick connect on for me for my NG hose.

I'm also looking to sell my old setup (new house came with a generac).

It's a Duromax 13000eh that's been converted to a tri-fuel.

Comes with a 50 ft NG hose and quick connects + 25 foot 50amp cord.

I'm having issues with the push button start (not working), but pull start has been just fine. Someone handy could trouble shoot it and resolve it.

Looking for $1100 for all of it.

I'm in Kingwood.

Edit: I swapped out the control panel and the push button starts works great
