Sometimes depending on the day of the week. Monday mornings has been reservation only the last few times I have flown.

you get a discount if you do.

Do valet, it is not that much more expensive and the car will be there when you get back….completely worth the extra cost.

You pay when you leave. It used to work with your toll tag in the ancient past. It was too easy so they got rid of that function.

So is it mandatory to reserve Terminal C?

I didn't this morning when I had to walk my kids in to their unaccompanied minor flight but the gate agent told me some radio DJ was complaining on twitter a couple of days ago where she tried to do the same and was rejected because of no reservation. So......maybe?

Last couple of times I valeted I had to wait for my keys. And rarely got a bottle of water. Irritated me.

NOTE: Once garage parking capacity reaches 85%, only pre-booked reservations will be permitted to park.

This. It's a crap shoot now. Best to reserve these days. I learned that the hard way after having to take a shuttle from A/B Parking to the C/E terminal. Damn near missed a recent flight, using the old school just arrive and expect parking at the terminal, free will. Different times have arrived for terminal parking at C/E.

I thought when they started the whole text messaging / tracking / getting your car based on your flight landing it would make things better. Every time now my car is sitting there but I have to dick around waiting in line to get keys, and there's always some issue (that doesn't involve me) that takes me 10-15 minutes, to just get my car and go. It would be nice if you prepaid, there was some sort of key box, or they lock your keys in the center console or something where you could just get in and go.

That's been my experience with valet too, hit and miss with whether it's worth it after arrivals. If I'm flying in/out same day for a work trip and have an early departure sometimes I will still valet to save a few minutes looking for a parking spot because I'm often cutting it close.

But to the original question, get a reservation just in case

I Hate to valet. Only at a restaurant where it's not a choice and my wife insist on going there. I've noticed those valet guys are always picking their nose, scratching their ass, or rubbing the junk. No, I do not like strangers getting into and driving my vehicles. I don't want their dna on my steering wheel and other car handles.

We parked at C several weeks ago with no reservation. Just push the button, get a ticket, and drive up to the garage.

This is me. Also, valet gets kicked back for some reason by Concur but a garage reservation doesn't.

Are yall still getting discounts for prebooking reservations at IAH? I got one recently at Hobby and did in the past at IAH but I'm not seeing it now when booking.

When I was parking the other day there was a 15+ car backup in the roundabout going up and some guy was blocking the entrance to level 3 which clearly showed parking spots available. Why he didn't just turn in there to park I will never understand. We got him to move a bit and went in to level 3 and found a spot in 5 seconds while his ******ed ass stayed in a traffic jam. Some people man.

I will never valet. I just won't go anywhere if that is the only option. When my wife and I were newlyweds, she went with friends to an event at the Hobby Center and valeted. The valet moron ran her 6 month old car right into a wall in the parking garage. They paid, but it was a huge ordeal.

I know where the gate arm switch is on the way out if anyone wants to park for free

* I only know this because of all the times their stupid credit card machines malfunction and strand you at the gate. They would rather open the gate to let me out than fix the issue. Too bad I was flying on business travel.

Have the issues at IAH improved since the spring? I have a flight early Thursday and I'm debating how early to get there.

I've used The Parking Spot for a couple of years and haven't had any issues.

Parking Spot used to be my go to. Then I had about half a dozen trips where I waited on the bus for 30 minutes. I just pay the extra to park at the terminal now, especially since I'm not traveling as much.
