No, but if a power outage affects pumping stations, there could be a boil notice which affects drinking water. And a lot of people still remember 2021 when they lost all water to their homes for an extended period of time, even though I don't think there's any chance that'll happen this time. Having extra water around your house during an extreme weather event is pretty common sense.

Kudos to Coca Cola, Pepsi and nestle for making people forget they have tubs they can fill up and boil water to cook with or even - gasp - drink in a pinch.

Women: "oh no my butt goes in the tub!"

I don't think microplastics in water bottles are going to be the death of us but if you can't find water in plastic bottles at the store, it's really not a big deal for a short freeze. Tub water will be fine too.

Kudos go out to the alarmists too for freaking out. You've enabled lots of clicks for Texags.

I picked up 2 cases of Disani water tonight while doing my regular grocery shopping. They were on sale 2 for $7.

Won't be drinking ass water.

Yeah I made the mistake of trying to go to HEB and get something routine. I turned around and got the f out. Can't believe how dumb people are. It's gonna freeze for a few hours 2-3 days from now.

We had to melt snow to flush toilets ... It was a thing. I don't judge people for getting water it's pretty unreliable around here

Update: 6am HEB run was successful. Pretty much everything I needed was in stock, there was ample parking, and no lines for checkout. I feel bad for the employees... they have a long few days ahead.

No, DeMarcus just told you guys in the offices that story. To convert from electric power to generator power would require the COH having some contractors do the work. If it's really ever cold enough in Houston, 10,000$ worth of Diesel anti-gel would be enough to treat All the generators the city owns.

Supposed to fly back to Houston from Cabo on Sunday, Southwest Airlines. Think that'll happen? Or should I just proactively move flight to Monday or Tuesday?

Also, are they expecting power outages? Been on vacation so haven't been paying attention.
