I currently live in the Wilchester / Nottingham area in West Houston. I am looking for a daycare for my daughter starting in August / September when she's around 18 months. My wife and I work downtown so need a daycare that offers drop-off around 8-9 am and pick-up around 4.

We have been looking at a few options. CML was great but the hours they offer don't work. We didn't love Kido. Yorkshire seems like a good option. We recently toured St. Theresa Catholic Church Early Childhood Center near memorial park and we really liked it but have no references.

Can you all drop your recommendations for daycare for an 18-month in the West Houston area? Also, any reviews or experiences with St. Theresa daycare in the Memorial area would be great.

We had our youngest at St Christopher's right on Blalock just north of I-10 until she started kinder this fall and have zero complaints.

Great teachers (some who even babysat for us(, reasonably priced, and she hit the ground running in kinder. They also were teaching them Spanish which I thought was great.

We did Holy Spirit Episcopal. Good experience, overall.

Our 18 month old is at BridgePoint Early Learning Academy (BELA). Our oldest went to Holy Cross Early Learning Center (HCELC) when we lived in that area.

I can say good things about yorkshire as I know several families who were verybhappy there and I know two of the teachers. Similar story with BELA. Our two started at ACEC (Ashford Child enrichment center). They started at about 22 months. We loved it, they stayed through pk3 but the hours are more 9-2 I think.

Don't know anything about the early childhood but we toured St. Theresa for 5th grade/middle and were impressed. They're going to get more and more popular (and thus selective) as kids continue to leave HISD and public schools. So it may be worth considering if you're thinking private school later on.

We did Goddard which was OK. I will say they're always open.
We also did MDUMC and really liked it. Be ready to camp out overnight in your car to sign up.

2nd for MDUMC. Both of our kids went there and overall the experience was great. There will be parts of any daycare that are a PIA but it is what it is. We live in your area as well and our kids went to WCE. MDUMC had an after school program that provided transportation from school to the church and we picked up at the church.

It's been a while for us but there was a lot of demand with few spots. I camped out in my truck early and then my wife relieved me prior to doors opening. Again, PIA but worth a little effort.

St. Theresa's ECC is great. Our oldest two went through the ECC and then transitioned to PK3 at St. Theresa and our third spent a year or so at the ECC before we moved away. Rae is great and they continue to make improvements to the facilities and curriculum. My kids really enjoyed their time there and we liked the community (we were also parishioners). I wouldn't hesitate if a spot opens up.

We use the Children's Lighthouse at Nottingham across from Nottingham Elementary and really like the place. Our oldest, now kindergarten, went through all of the rooms and learned a lot during his time there.
