It's cookoff, so I expect some freak storm to blow in or something. It's not the same if we don't have all types of weather.

We're two days away from the 5th anniversary of HLSR overreacting to some Cookoff COVID cases in the Latino police association tent, Roadkill Cafe.

I can't believe it's been that long. Was on shift when the decision came down to close.

Will never forget Lina melting down about the "uncooperative" cop......in ICU. Because she personally was going to conduct "contact-tracing" to find everyone in his tent and anyone else he may have spread it to like he was Typhoid Tony.

I remember that day as we took the kids down to the stock show/carnival and I was getting my boots shined when announced - told the guy shinin and he just yelled MAAAAAAN THIS IS SOME BULLLLLSHIIIIIT

To be fair the overreacting wasn't limited to just HLSR.

They shut down when they got word from the county. After continual efforts to seek guidance from the county, word on the street (certainly not first-hand info on my part) was that the response came all at once to shut down.

um...ok buddy.

My point being that a lot of the general public, government officials, companies, school districts, churches, etc overreacted to COVID for a good portion of 3 years.

If you expected HLSR to stay the course and push on then I don't know what to tell you.

COVID in general was a massive overreaction on multiple levels and not specific to HLSR.

Yeah, recall that an NBA game in Seattle was one of the first things to be cancelled. Folks justified it as west coast doing west coast things.

Then maybe a day or two later they cancelled HLSR.

It was at that point that some of us knew and predicted on here that this business would get out of control and we in it for the long haul (which ended up being the better part of 2-years).

'Two weeks to stop the spread' maybe the biggest lie ever told.
