I have seen many lists online that rank Houston as having the best Vietnamese, and Indian/Pakistani food in the country.

My only gripe with the western, southwestern, southern, and northwestern suburbs are the lack of trees.

Weather today made me happy to live here when most of my coworkers were dealing with snow today.

I'd rather deal with that occasionally than the heat we deal with for 8 months or our monsoons.

As a 4th generation native Houstonian, what do I like. Hmmmmm

I really like the diversity of the city, the varieties to choose from. Underrated nationally. You can really get any flavor you want here. You want Korean? Head to Long Point. You really like Mexican? Lots of choices between Navigation and Edgebrook. Indian? Some great picks in Sugarland. And they are likely smart, too. Interesting conversations as you're shooting your shot. What if you prefer the skinny white girls with Daddy issues? Wander around Memorial or Washington Ave. You prefer your crack ho in a blonde Beyonce wig, well, you have some choices. You can slow roll Bellfort, Jensen, Lyons, Fondren or even S Gessner. Really want that authentic natural-hair crackhead strange? Just head south of 610 on MLK. You can also grab some Oxtail when you're down there, which is kinda nice, just be careful of the pimps. They can be a bit rough. And stay away from downtown. Those hoes are crazy.

Anyway, lots of variety here. We really should produce a shoppers guide.

Screw that. Snow sucks. I'll take the heat over snow any day.

Born at Hermann, lived here off/on from birth til A&M, full time since 1992. My faves:

- concerts

I'm going to disagree with you on this one. The number of concerts that I've wanted to see that hit some combination of Austin, San Antonio, Dallas and El Paso but skipped Houston is maddening. Houston is big, so it's not good bands never come here, but Houston does get skipped. A lot.
