A new joint called Buttermilk Baby opened up at the MKT at Shepherd/W. 6th.

Visually, the place is a LOT, but the design is cartoonish in a very kid-friendly way.

Chicken is probably the most prominent thing on the menu, but they also serve burgers, corndogs, ice cream, and have what looks to be a good breakfast menu. Portion-for-price is pretty good, but the chicken by itself is pretty bland. They have good sauces that make up for it. The hand-dipped corndog is good, and their fries are double-fried. I'll definitely go back to try some other menu items.

Ive heard mixed reviews on it. But maybe it is just opening kinks to work out. Havent tried it yet.

I don't get the hype with his places. Thought B&B was pretty meh. I liked Benny Chow's but it was overpriced and already closed.

Wait, when did benny chows close? I had wanted to try it. Also, the Happy Hour at Prime in timber grove is decent but i wouldnt pay for dinner there unless it was expensed.

Looks like it closed end of September. I thought it was good but I can understand that most people don't want to drop steakhouse prices on Chinese food.

I thought it was reasonably priced, given the location and consistency with nearby options. I will agree on the good, but not great, though.

Tried it out a month ago and the food was fine. Definitely can see the appeal for young groups and families on the weekends. Very Instagram-friendly.

We went for the soft serve. I guess they have some special kind of soft serve, Carvel? Not sure, this was from my wife.

Anyway, it was good. It was thicker and better than any soft serve I've had. It was also pretty reasonably priced. We went with family, 6 of us got ice cream for less than what I paid at Marble Slab for my son and I a few weeks ago. And the servings were large, none of us finished ours.

They're expanding to being Carvel to the burbs.
