How long do you want to ignore this user?
Wife and I went south down Pederson Rd this past weekend and I had no idea the amount of development that existed that far south all the way to 1093. Not trying to stir up crap, but generally curious how long does it take for someone to travel into say Memorial City area in the mornings/evenings for work? Going through all the sub divisions and lights I am guessing over an hour? I'm talking from your actual driveway to work.

We were both astonished at the amount of homes being thrown up in that area. Crazy

I live east of 99 and it takes me about 30 mins to drive to Downtown in the morning before 7 and 1 hr 15 mins in the evening if I leave anytime between 4 and 6.

The worst traffic these days is between downtown and 610 and starting at highway 6 to Katy.

Twinwood is coming with 16,000 homes. It stretches from Brookshire on the North end all the way past Simonton to the Brazos on the South end. 30 year build out.

It's on both sides of FM 1489.

Within the next 5-10 years development will be solid from Katy to Sealy

I'm old enough to remember when the traffic congestion started / ended at Gessner.

Downtown Katy?!

Google maps shows 45 minutes to 1:40 to go from academy on 10/99 to 705 Main downtown leaving Tuesday at 7:00 am.

Edit: that's likely not in toll lanes.

sad but true. One of my best friends is a Pederson (Pederson Rd) and we used to do a ton of duck hunting, beer drinking, etc all over their old rice fields which are now all sub divisions. Great memories looking back, but sad to see what's become of all the old rice fields out west of Katy. And all of this has happened in about 10 years. Scary to think what the next 10 years will look like.

You should probably leave Texas now before the rush.

I'm near Tompkins HS so not quite as far west as Peterson Rd. If I leave at 6:45, I would be at Memorial City in about 40-45 minutes. Coming home it would be a solid hour if I left at 4. Thankfully I don't have to commute down 10 often. I knew people who live in Willow Creek Farms just behind the Cameron plant and if they have to go inside 610 they basically leave the house at 5:30 to try to miss traffic.

El Paso will probably look the same for the next 50 years so you never have to be sad. Just sayin.

It is terrible what is happening to this area. We used to be out in the country-ish and now all the development has made traffic almost unbearable..

I use to live in Young Ranch. It's the first neighborhood south of I10 off Pederson/Texas Heritage Parkway. I always left at 6am and would get to Memorial City in 30 minutes. In the afternoon I leave at 3:30 and would be back home in 35 minutes. It was always pretty manageable at the times I left, unless there was an accident.

Taking Westpark Tollway to memorial city would be torture.

Taking I10 to memorial city would be torture.

used to make the commute from Pin Oak and I-10 to memorial city but carpooled and took the HOV, there are so many HOV cheats it's almost as slow as the main lanes. They should extend the HOV to 99 and raise the fine.

The toll part of the middle lane ends just past 6 but the HOV currently goes to just west of Mason.

When did you move out there? Did you think you'd be the last one?
