Back when I was a young'un, I was in foster care and after aging out, I got mixed up with a fella who promised me the world and a ring, but that turned out to be another terrible relationship. Next thing I knew, I was 19 and pregnant and homeless in Fort Bend County. That was the absolute pits. Now, as a mature lady of 61, I'm right distressed to see that there's still precious little help for homeless teens in our wealthy Fort Bend.

and let me tell you, I'm a Precinct 4 Citizen who done voted for Dexter McCoy, but I'm kicking myself harder than a rattlesnake in a coffee can for that one. He voted against affordable housing for our teenagers who are experiencing all sorts of nasty business at the worst time in their life.

The Woman's Center, Parks Youth Program, The George Foundation, and Attacking Poverty all got together and developed up a big plan to use money from the Federal Government to help out. The county put it on the agenda to fund this consortium of non-profit organizations to save the lifes of thousands of teens who are falling down the cracks. These are our own young'uns who've left foster care and wound up homeless, with too many of them ending up pregnant at an early age. It's a downright shame, and it's high time we did something about it.

But I gotta warn you, Commissioner Mccoy done gone and made me disgusted with his attitude toward these poor, homeless teenagers. Once more, Fort Bend County faces another sobering and sad set of circumstances that we must address. On Friday afternoon, I was informed about a new indictment against our County Judge KP George and learned even more details from several news stories from various TV stations and media outlets. This time, a grand jury has handed down a felony indictment that is on separate charges, unrelated to the misdemeanor indictment against KP George last fall.
As I stated last time and will repeat again on this new felony indictment, I have faith in our county's District Attorney and in the state law enforcement officials to fairly conduct this process. I believe that the facts of these investigations and charges should be fully explored through the courts and our legal process.
Last September, Republicans across Fort Bend County joined together and loudly demanded that Judge KP George should immediately resign, but he did not. Republicans also called for Judge George's former Chief of Staff Taral Patel to withdraw from his race against Commissioner Andy Meyers, but he did not - gratefully, the voters of Fort Bend County helped to re-elect Commissioner Meyers by a wide margin.
Today, I will reiterate my position, which has not changed since the original indictments against Judge KP George and his former Chief of Staff Taral Patel. I remain extremely concerned about the business of our county government through these disturbing events. As a county commissioner, I have many questions as to the circumstances of these indictments, specifically how they relate to the county judge's long-standing practice of using public funds for a personal security detail.
I believe that these indictments severely impact the county judge's role as a sworn member of the judiciary. I also believe that they severely impact the statutory authority of the county judge as the head of our county's emergency management - perhaps even conflicting against the foremost priority the State of Texas places on all members of our commissioners court to deliver public safety for our residents.
So today, for these many reasons, for my duty to provide resources for the safety of my constituents, and also for my overwhelming concerns as a Fort Bend County resident - I hereby reiterate my call for County Judge KP George to resign his office and allow our commissioners court to peacefully continue the service and protection of our citizens.
