Our son is anchoring his TIR team. We have several family members who would like to go and cheer him on, but not sure the best places to park for the beginning (Memorial Park) and finish (Downtown). Any advice greatly appreciated!

If it's anything like previous years, it finishes at Buffalo Bayou Park on top of the Cistern on Sabine Street. You can park in the Tranquility garage and walk over to the park.

ETA: I'm 99% certain it starts in Goliad, Texas, not Memorial Park.

It's a relay. The last leg starts in Memorial Park.

Never would have guessed it's a relay from Texas Independence Relay.. My husband ran it last year and the year before.

It finishes at St Arnold this year and your best bet is to see him finish there. You could probably see him at memorial park and then make it to st Arnold before him if you want to see him twice but sounds like a goat rodeo trying to coordinate multiple groups of people to pull that off.

Surprised to learn they don't finish at San Jacinto anymore. Although I ran that leg before and it was a bit sketchy.

Haven't done that in 6-7 years. The finish has jumped all over the place. Parking garage downtown. Blue bell the Covid year when Harris county was power tripping. Sabine park downtown and now st Arnold.

Did y'all see that a truck plowed through one of the transition areas over night on Saturday night?

My son said there was a rumor going around that a runner had been hit but that that sounds worse. Hope everyone is ok.

I cant find any news but overnight a truck plowed into one of the areas and hit several runners. Friend of a friend broke an arm and several ribs.

Holy hell that's awful.

I paced a buddy who ran it solo a couple years ago.

Looks like I am seeing updates on the same victim. He was running for F3 Katy and seeing some prayer updates on F3 Fort Bend's board.

Most recent update from this morning is he'll need some arm surgery (compound fracture) but should be OK and is fully coherent. He took a knock/laceration to the head as well but no concussion.

Update on this? What became of the driver? I assume it wasn't another team vehicle...

He's looking good...saw a photo posted of him in the hospital with his wife. Looked banged up but in good spirits. Thankfully, he was was not hit head-on but was clipped at a high-speed...think the side-view mirror inflicted most of the damage. Not sure what happened to the other victims, I assume their injuries weren't as serious.

From what I heard...the driver was intoxicated, was a hit and run, and he was later apprehended by the police.
