to me personally, Gringo's would be a safe choice but not unique.

My go-to is Las Cascadas on Cypresswood just West of Holzworth (it's directly across the street from the end of the Target shopping center.

Edit... Saw you want East of 45... this is ~1/4 West of 45

If you venture west of 45, you have some good options. Like el Tiempo in a vintage Park. Or Guadalajara in the Woodlands right on I-45.

Across 45 from Pappacitos there's a Spanish Flowers, a Mamacita's and a Lupe Tortilla all pretty much next to each other. And I think Mexcal Cantina Pacifico just opened, too, but that's probably not what you're looking for.

When I was a kid, we used to go to Carlos' every Sunday after church. Literally every Sunday. For years and years.

It was in a shopping center at the corner of Aldine Westfield and Trailing Vine just down the street from Hirsch Elementary. About the time I was in high school, they moved to a stand-alone building they built right next door.

I just looked on Google Maps, and it looks like it's called Tequila Patio now.

I know that contributes nothing to the thread, but I thought I'd share my story that none of you give a rip about. But I enjoyed the trip down memory lane that I just went on.

Tried Beto's for the first time last night actually. Not bad. Had the Fajitas Poblanas. Beef was solid.

I googled the location of the Equine facility OP is at. Humble is significantly closer than all of the The Woodlands posts on this thread. OP's location is much closer to 1960 & Cypresswood than 45.

OP mentioned Gringos so no need to stretch your brain trying to think of good places.

We always went to El Palenque at 45/Spring Cypress in the mid-90s. It was still pretty good the last time I went a couple of years ago.
