I know Ticketmaster is viewed as the evil empire of ticketing, but in regard to service, Ticketmaster is 1000 times better than the cut-rate, bargain basement ticket vendor AXS that is used by Toyota Center.
I'm trying to get info on tickets to an upcoming event that will be at Toyota Center. Tickets are not on sale yet, but there is an on-sale date listed on the website. However, aside from the date of the public sale there is no information on the Toyota Center or AXS websites. No info on pre-sale, no info on prices, nothing.
So I tried calling. But at 10:00am (the time the box office opens) they had "higher than expected call volume and extended wait times" and I was encouraged to visit the website and use the online chat feature before being disconnected.
I then tried to use the online chat function, only to be #7 in the queue and having to wait 20 minutes. Finally my spot came up so I said I was looking for more info on the concert that I had questions about. The response was clearly an AI bot that directed me to the website and said no other info was available and my chat was disconnected..
A visit to Ticketmaster for the same concert in San Antonio and Austin in preceding days at least gave me info on presale dates.
TLDR- AXS charges the same (or more) convenience fees than Ticketmaster, but offers a fraction of the actual convenience or service.
