I have worked alongside John in SBISD on issues in our district. John is smart, hard-working and committed to conservative values. He has strong backbone and does not compromise on his principles. I know he will be able to champion conservative interests without succumbing to backdoor dealings or big donors. In today's challenging climate, I trust John to represent HD133 with integrity and transparency.

Was he put up by Paxton because his opponent voted to impeach him?

Not at all - frustrated with watered down priorities and inaction.

Mano and John are both great guys but politics is a funny game. It has a way of changing people, good people. The 079 has representation issues at all levels so don't just put it all on Mano. I hope, which ever guy wins, buckles down and helps lead vs continuing to throw stones.

All you need to know about this race is Mano Deayala is a prostitute for Dade Phelen. Looks like he paid old Mano $102,000.00 to sell his soul and vote the way that Dade and the democrats tell him to.

If stop voting for people that take money Austin would be empty. Maybe you're on to something!!

So Dade gives Mano $102,000 out of the goodness of his heart. Give me a break the only difference in a street hoe and Mano is what they are selling in return for the money. The people of HD 133 deserve better than someone who will sell them out as Jesus was sold out for 30 pieces of silver.

It's still early, maybe slow down on the brown water!

My point was, the vast majority of elected officials, given time, will probably take $$$ from someone or some org that causes even the folks that voted for them to take a second look. Doesn't mean they can't deliver.

John's a good dude, vote for who you want but let's not pretend anyone in Austin or DC is some freaking saint

I'm not sure what the 102k is related to but I wouldn't say it's surprising for a speaker to give money to a supporter's campaign against a primary challenger.

I don't live in that district and don't have a vote or a preference. I have friends who are dead set against the incumbent for all kinds of reasons related to SBISD and neighborhood issues….

but there is absolutely nothing unusual or unprecedented about a Speaker supporting a friendly incumbent. Just as Governor Abbot is supporting his preferred candidates, and Ken Paxton is supporting his preferred candidates. If the money is not coming from their campaigns directly, it's coming from their donors. And many of these primary fights are just proxy wars between a couple of big donors vying to play alpha dog.

And personally, I disregard comments from people who make sacrilegious comparisons between venial politicians and the sacrifice of Christ, especially during this Lenten season.

The 102k is so Mano will support him again as Speaker. They are aligned, no question.

Again, campaign money goes to supporters. This isn't surprising nor is it shady.

Mano was doing nothing for the area. Was not helping Spring Branch ISD, until John Perez entered the fight and pushed him. He is a RINO and needs to go. John Perez will fight for us.

As a first-term rep, Mano voted to impeach the one state AG that sues (and wins) the Biden admin the most on BS evidence that was later shown as such in the senate.

I voted for Mano last time around. Not this time.

Mano can FRO. Perez all the way.

People comparing politicians to Jesus Christ never cease to amaze me.

Also, the term "RINO" is the most overused term in politics. It's a lazy buzzword for people who don't want to have to explain themselves.

I really couldn't care less either way but have to chuckle about how TexAgs has become a platform for retail politics. If you missed it, Perez was kicked senseless by Mano.
AggieMom24

We do live in Houston. It is hard to run against an incumbent with name recognition and a ton of money. I would not say he was kicked senseless. Sad day for SBISD.
