Cross post from classified for my Houston peep- We are downsizing, kids are grown so we no longer use. Our loss is your gain as this is almost $5k brand new. Purchase mid 2000s and has all parts, just needs to be reseasoned and possibly painted if you want it to look brand new. Any rust you see is surface only and this is built like a tank with 1/2 plate for the firebox (which is great for holding temperature). I'd guess that it weighs somewhere around 1,000 pounds so you will need a trailer with a ramp and strong backs to pick it up. It's has oversized wheels so it can be moved around by one person on flat surfaces. Because of all this, you will be responsible for picking this up at my home located in west Houston. Cash or payment app such at Venmo, Zelle or PayPal. DM me with any questions. Thanks!

I have the exact same one - 2" ball valve, stainless grates, 1/2" firebox, bigger wheels, and raised to 39" (?) to accommodate for my taller frame. It's an awesome smoker. It was a 30th Birthday present from my wife and it's still going strong 15 years later. I moved it with us 6 times in 5 years, even with as much of a pain in the ass as it was. Word of advice, if it's going to roll across dirt/grass, get two sheets of 3/4" plywood and leapfrog it. It'll bust right through 1/2" - ask me how I know.

This is why I can't have a smoker. Too rich for me, even at half price.

You can get in with a much cheaper set up, even a custom pit like Klose. I will say, I had a Klose and he pissed me off. I had his more basic sized 20x30 (like $2k now) for about 10 years. Fire box started kind of flaking apart to the point that the slots that hold the wood and cooking grates no longer had support. Of course he said with that damage I might as well buy a new one, but the new one's were built for life and would be the last pit I ever bought....which he also told me when I bought mine. So I just bought a ceramic.

Anyway....I'd imagine the OP's won't be too far from that if whoever buys it doesn't grind off that rust and put a new coat of higher temp paint on it. I think that's the issue with the Klose pits, the paint isn't high temp enough.
