I see the feds gave the state (or whatever parties) a grant to do further feasibility studies on a high-speed rail line between Houston & Dallas but it is still really a thing? I thought the legislature was preventing them from using ED to condemn land for the ROW to run the tracks.

I would not give it zero percent chance. But it has to be single digits at best. That won't stop the grifters from trying to pry money from the government and investors.

The concern here is for buying land for development which might be in the path.
