How long do you want to ignore this user?
This week alone I have re-delivered 10 envelopes to my neighbors that my Mensa postal worker mis-delivered. .

I'm thinking about buying some gray shorty shorts so I can have the authentic USPS postal worker experience.

We do that often.

They can finish their route more quickly if they just deliver to every other box and let you handle the rest.

The contractor that builds and installs these machines are supposed to do site surveys as a part of the installation side of the contract. You need to make sure you have proper electrical drops, the machine can fit, etc. This is supposed to be done early on after contract award. Not sure why this happened other than sheer incompetence and corruption.

Is this like a secret coded message. Are we supposed to solve the puzzle?

In your rush to bash working from home, you missed site survey. Just about every one of these types of projects are non-local for the companies that install equipment like this and most equipment in industrial settings. They aren't working from an office regardless. It's usually a motel room. Which is the exact opposite of a nice, cushy work from home job or working from an office.

But please, carry on.

Oh, they're idiots. Has absolutely nothing to do with working from home.

Most of the types that do this kind of work are pretty wild ass guys. Had all kinds of non-authorized credit card charges and cash advances back in the day. The guy that did that survey may have just done hookers and blow and headed on to the next site.

See. Pay attention. This is how you make wild ass assumptions that could be plausible.

Still waiting on an important package to be delivered for 3 weeks now. Submitted a missing mail request and nothing. Bit the bullet and went with FEDEX today and reshipped it with them. I was expecting it to cost a lot more, but it was $13 for 3 day delivery, compared to $10 with USPS.

I'll gladly pay the extra $3 to not use USPS anymore.

I think the thing that impresses / amazes me the most is your ability to seamlessly flip flop from overly judgmental to "why does anyone care, why does random person take it so seriously" from thread to thread while simultaneously derail most. It's truly a gift.

I wish they would have kept quiet about it until after it was over. If I were the USPS, as soon as I saw that article posted, I would have been searching the facility for those packages addressed to the tv stations and made sure they got there on time. No telling how long they would have sat there if they weren't publicizing their location in real time.

My company's main office is in Lafeyette LA. The majority of our vendors are in Houston. Since 1/1, I've probably had a dozen call me about outstanding invoices. I send them to AP and they've all had checks cut and mailed. Head of AP called me yesterday wondering what was going on because yesterday alone she had 6 vendors reach out to her about not receiving payment. I told her what the deal was with the Tine USPS, and she said she's just going to start doing ACH whenever she can from now on to avoid this and use FedEx/UPS for the whatever remains.

And yes, USPS is the scum of the earth. Just last week I was sitting in our living room and saw a postal truck pull up, dude bro hops out, walks halfway up the driveway and throws my package onto the lawn. Broad daylight. Not a care in the world. I could've reported him since I caught it on camera, but I prefer not to wake up to my house burning down in the middle of the night.

Have any of you seen the new USPS commercial? They show a bunch of well groomed people delivering packages and being friendly. They talk about on time deliveries. It's satire for sure!

Yep, they even paid for it to run during the Super Bowl to tell us how they have upgraded to new ultra high speed mail sorting equipment to be more efficient than ever before.

To be fair…their on time delivery metrics are probably good. Not accurate, but good.

It was very well known in my old hood that usps would mark your package as delivered but not actually deliver it for 2 or 3 more days.

Easy to keep your metrics looking good when you just flat lie about it being delivered when it is still sitting in a pile of boxes at the North Houston Sorting center.

Yep, and been this way for years, so just their standard inefficiencies, not because of this new snafu because of their incompetence.

I mean we didn't even look for the package until a couple days later. Lying about deliveries is SOP.

Unfortunately, the whole system is in a death spiral; bad service leads to less business, leads to budgetary issues, leads to having to hire crappy employees, leads to less business…….

The USPS doesn't have to worry about their budget, they just get daddy government to give them more. And they have already cornered the market on crappy employees that are impossible to fire.
