Anyone have an opinion on what the best Lexus dealership in Houston is? Sterling McCall and Westside are probably my closest options, although not terribly close to me. I've convinced myself to go in on the new GX550.

No idea how they compare. I'm on the list for a new GX from Northside. They were ~250 deep when I got in back in September-ish. Production has started, to some extent, not sure when they are starting deliveries.

My fiance recently got a new Lexus and her experience was getting on the wait list at a number of Lexus dealerships and just waiting on the first one on the way that met her requirements. I think she was on the waiting list at all of the dealerships in Houston plus a handful of them in Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio. She ended up getting the new car from Northside Lexus but that had less to do with the dealership and much more to do with they got the car she wanted.

Unless things have drastically changed in the past few months, they have basically zero inventory on hand, and they just work the production and shipping inventory to get what you want. Some of them require a refundable deposit, but most don't. It also meant no negotiation on price and that interaction with salespeople other than the waiting list management and updates was basically zero.

I'm sure Sterling is great, but I've used Westside for years and have been happy with them. Bought several vehicles from Jon Loving there and he's always been great. Have referenced a few friends and family members to him as well and they have all had good experiences.

That being said, the last car we bought there was in May of 2020 in a much different market/price environment. I've got a friend on the GX waitlist at Westside and it sounds like you'll have to deal with that process regardless of which dealer you choose.

Westside. Best experience by far. Both my parents and sister have bought multiple cars each from there, and I have bought 2 for my wife there.

We bought from Westside several years ago. It was my first time buying a new vehicle, so other than learning how miserable that process is in general, it was an overall good experience. The service experience afterwards has been very good.

Northside Lexus in Houston was playing the additional dealer markup game on top of the sticker price in July when we were shopping for a new gx 460. They added 3M hood bras, door edge guards, ring guards, window tint, and some other " protection product".
We bought from Sewell in Dallas to avoid this junk on the vehicle.
I will say that Northside Lexus has had a great service department for the last 8 years we have used them.

I'm trading in my 2016 Honda Pilot. It's become a maintenance nightmare, and as a lifetime Honda or Acura owner, it's been an extremely disappointing vehicle. I'm ready to ditch Honda.

Recently had a good experience at Lexus Clear Lake. Jack Way helped us. Good guy. Agree with everyone else as far as wait list, new car purchase experience and such.

If you want to ditch your vehicle soon then going for a new GX might not be the right move. I think you'll be waiting for quite some time.

But I vote for Westside, great customer service.
