Any local places make a smoked hamburger? I haven't had one since Guy's Meat Market on OST closed some years ago.

Pizzitola's has a pit smoked burger on their menu but I've never had it.

Roegel's does one from time to time that's pretty good.

Jax does a decent mesquite smoked burger.

I know it'll trigger some folks but I think Beck's smokes their burger decent enough. It just sucks paying for it.

Pizzitola's is criminally underrated. That place is a hidden gem for BBQ at great prices. Everything they make is excellent. Their smoked cabbage is amazing.

ETA: Should have been a thumbs up

I remember a lot of smoke flavor in the Beck's by Willowbrook, but they closed down. After a few years, I last went to the one in the Woodlands and was disappointed. The place smelled thick with smoke, but I didn't get that from the meat.

I saw the thumbs down and started reading Pizzitola's is criminal and was like what?!

I used to live right down the street. Agree it's really underrated. My son (3) loved going there. They treated him like royalty, bringing him out drinks, pieces of smoked turkey to snack on while we waited, etc.

I think yall confusing grilling burgers over wood like becks & mesquite joints and smoker patties like roegels/Tejas

I can do both much better in my backyard.

I can vouch for Roegel's being A+ when they have it as a special.

I just mix in a little liquid smoke and throw it on the Foreman grill. Couldn't pay me to eat one of those BBQ joint patties.

They must have had a massive turn around because the only time I went there it was similar in quality to Demeris.

Try it again and see what you think. If you're free tomorrow, I'll treat you to lunch.

I think it's fair to say that's true for most cuisine. It's especially true here. You are either buying a grilled burger that was hastily prepared or has been sitting forever, or you are getting a "smoked" burger which takes at least an hour to prepare so you aren't getting a fresh product.

There is no substitute for backyard grilling by even the most average griller in terms of freshness, taste, and quality. If you have a wiener and you can't cook a better steak or burger than a local restaurant, you should turn in your man card now.
