Like many pre-teen girls, my daughter has become a huge Taylor Swift fan and has recently discovered vinyl records. Many of T Swift's ablums are readily available on vinyl, but her debut album is a little more scarce.

Any suggestions on the best place in Houston to try and find the TSwift Debut album on vinyl? Looking to avoid online purchase unless it's the only option.

Discogs is the best way to get rare vinyl releases.

But there is absolutely something awesome about going to a record store and checking out what they have in stock and finding new things to listen to. I'm not sure if this is something swift fans would be in to, but a record store can be magical.

OP, vinal edge is a long time store that i believe moved to the heights from champions area. I was going there all the time in my younger years. Not sure if it is still around.

Vinal Edge is on 19th street in the Heights. It is a fun store and would recommend.

Soundwaves on Montrose used to have a hefty Vinyl collection with lot's of new stuff. Haven't been in a couple years though.

In this case, looking for a specific record, Discogs is easiest. I am not sure the locals shops would have that record, but if I were guessing, Cactus would be most probable.

Vinal Edge is my favorite shop in town.

No releases matter in the slightest if you are using an insufficient player. A vintage turntable is an absolute must. I recommend a Pink Triangle deck.

The most authentic equipment can be found in Scotland's rural antique shoppes, a trip far beyond even the imagination of your average American "music" consumer.

A minimum rig would be something like:

Linn Sondek LP 12 - Adikt cartridge
Naim Stageline
Naim Supernait II
Klipsch Cornwall IIIs

However, to listen properly a higher-level set-up is recommended. For example:

- Clearaudio Statement v2
- La Platine Magnum
- Goldmund Reference II

Obviously people's opinions can vary slightly here, and few appreciate a liquid nitrogen-rectified belt, or some other "non-essential" features. Which is … Fine. But it's amusing how few appreciate the player, and focus on music. Well, hardware matters.

Truly the only way to properly enjoy vinyl is with a worthy player.
