My dad was recently diagnosed with eso****ael cancer and after a series of tests, diagnostic procedures, and doctor/oncologist meetings (both near their home in Austin/Bastrop and in Houston at MD Anderson), is likely to start radiation/chemo treatment at MD Anderson West Houston (Hwy 6/I-10) the week of Christmas. We are in the early stages of looking at temporary lodging (assuming 6 weeks or so of treatment) in the West Houston/Katy area.

My sister and I both live in the area and are fairly familiar with what is generally available after some initial research (AirBnB, VRBO, corporate apartments, and extended stay suites) but wanted to poll for any unique options we haven't considered yet before locking something down. Highest priorities would be something on 1st floor, proximity to MD Anderson West Houston (parents can get overwhelmed driving in Houston traffic for longer distances), and overall comfort. We've looked at The Ballard House, but were hoping to find something a bit closer to ease the driving burden. Appreciate any thoughts that TexAgs could provide!

Thank you, I had read through some of these threads and there is some helpful information. A number of good options mentioned in the Medical Center (main MD Anderson complex), we are looking a little closer to the West Houston campus (which is where his daily treatment will occur).
