We have a two kids (a 2 year old and a 2 month old). My wife is returning to work in January but the daycare my 2 year old goes to does not have a spot for the 2 month old until March 2024 (even though we've been on the list since February, but that's a rant for another time).

My question is if anyone in the Woodlands/Conroe area has used a nanny that they would recommend? It would be a short term assignment until our youngest could start daycare (Although, depending on cost, we could be convinced into turning the position into a more long-term situation if it suited all parties). We need someone willing to come to our house and watch over our little one from like 8:00a - 4:00p/4:30p Monday - Friday.

Any recommendations, advice, suggestions, references, etc are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm sure you can find a nice Ukrainian or Russian nanny to take care of you up in the woodlands.

Just FYI-

Most nanny's don't want a short term gig, so that may make it a little tougher. Not impossible but quality of nanny increases with pay and expected term as well. We found that out the hard way.

I'd expect $20-$25/hr plus time and a half for over 40. Transportation is also a consideration, we ended up buying an Accord for her to drive while on the clock, plus gas etc. it adds up. yay kids. I'd expect to spend $60k/yr roughly for an 8am-6pm workday Mon-Fri all of the above considered.

That said, it's worth it 100% never a doubt, even if you have to cut a lot of other spending to do it.
