I'm very much a dude, and a "greedy ass suburban builder".

I agree, larger garages are nice, I'm a big fan of 3 car ones...but putting in a large one will cause the price of the home to go up. Nobody is being "greedy" by not making them larger, it's all market driven. 22' wide garages with 20' wide doors have been the basic standard for decades.

Aren't "standard" garage doors 16' wide by 7' tall?

That's what my very suburban houses in Houston have had.

I think it's more about the depth of the garage.

On the at4 Hd did you just find it in stock? Looking but for the gasoline version. Who installed the kill?

I did find it in stock, but they sell quick. I went to Houston Car Stereo to get it installed
What was the total cost? Switch plus labor. Turnaround time?

Dude turning around and buying another $80k truck is why they aren't doing anything about this.

Yep, my post a month ago….

And everyone I know who's had it happen turned around and bought the exact same car (Silverado, Tahoe, etc.) so what's the incentive for the manufacturer to fix it?

And I definitely don't mean anything bad towards the OP. I love my truck and I'd think hard about it but will still admit it's likely I'd replace with the same thing.

$400 total (100 for the wiring harness itself, 300 for the labor). Check out the website below and call the number at the top. This guy named Rob will answer and it sounds like he is the owner of the product. The address linked to his website below is the car stereo place called 'Houston Car Stereo' however his product is being sold in various AV shops around the country. He will help you find a location if you are not in Houston or close to this shop. It took the guys 2hrs to install.

And what do you expect me to do? Roll around in rental for $50/day or pick up a less attractive car that won't get stolen? I have a deer lease that I needed to get to

First off, how much liability does the manufacture have with their trucks being stolen? How about the dealers? Crime as evolved and it is not just the GMC's that are taken... they are just the quickest resale.

The dealer I purchased the new truck from had GPS trackers in all of their trucks and so I at least had the ability to monitor the location until I figured out a more long term solution.

So I got a replacement truck and just got the Trackhawk kill switch installed on my truck. So far I like it but wish it had a little functionality. For example it would be nice if I can schedule commands to kill and disable the switch at certain times of the day.

So after reaching out to their support, I realized that you do have the ability to schedule commands for the vehicle; it has to be created through their web portal and not the iOS app.

+1 for Trackhawk. Got one for Christmas and Rob's team installed it in Houston in about two hours.
