I'm very much a dude, and a "greedy ass suburban builder".

I agree, larger garages are nice, I'm a big fan of 3 car ones...but putting in a large one will cause the price of the home to go up. Nobody is being "greedy" by not making them larger, it's all market driven. 22' wide garages with 20' wide doors have been the basic standard for decades.
In those decades, half ton trucks have grown 5 inches taller and wider and a foot longer. 250s even more. Every house on my street (10-15yr old homes) has at least one truck in driveway. They dont fit. Garages are joke.

Reggie Jackson's car stolen in Houston
Police said the ring even stole Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson's car back in August. Juan Luna, 33, was arrested in September and charged in that incident.

Leader has been arrested at least 30 times?!? Good gravy. Maybe the worst part is he effectively trained an entire army of people to steal cars.

Greedy ass suburban builders don't help. 3k SF house, and here is a garage fit for 2 mini coopers and a small work station.
Our old house had a small garage, but I was able to get my Frontier and my wife's Edge in. We moved to a house that was built in '97 and has a detached garage, and it's huge. Tons more room in front and on the sides. I'm guessing the detached are often a bit larger.

I have a three car tandem garage but we cannot get either the wife's Highlander or my F150 in because the builder put a big fat post in to make a two door garage. The Highlander has less than a centimeter clearance between the post and wall so it would be a huge pain in the ass to park in there. The F150 is also too wide. Height would be tight as well.

Dang. How wide is the highlander? Our old house had 2 doors and we were able to get the Edge (was a wide vehicle to me) in no problem, but we parked it on the side so the driver's door opened to the other car's stall, and I backed my Frontier in.
You're talking about parking an Accord, Odyssey, or Ford Edge in a garage. I don't think the people complaining about not being able to park in their garage are driving smaller vehicles like that.

Just how big do you think a Highlander is?

My AT4 was stolen in August of this year out of my drive way. Very similar to yours. The grill allows for someone to reach their hand in a easily disconnect the wire from the horn, so no noise once they open the door. I live in Houston and 15 days later my truck was sold to a guy in Washington State. I found this out later after the insurance company took over the title, but thought it was crazy how quickly they moved it and put new VIN numbers on it. I now have a kill switch on my new truck.

How did they figure out it was yours if the VIN had been swapped out?

After mine was stolen, I got a call from a guy in Washington State that bought it off a pop-up lot (15 days later) with different vin numbers. When the title didn't show up 30 days later he went to the lot and the whole operation was gone. He took it to a GMC dealership and they ran the VIN with a computer hooked up to the truck and it didn't match. He then went to the police station and found our police report.

Before finding this out, I assumed they were just chopping these trucks up and selling the parts, since most are interchangeable with other years and models.

They just changed the VIN numbers that are visible (on the dash, along the door, in the glove box, etc.). He apparently took it to a dealer and they hooked it up to a computer and the real VIN that it spit out was different. He then took it to the police station and they ran the VIN and found the police report.

Yeah, my Tacoma DCLB won't fit in the garage of our new house and still leave room for a workbench or any storage against the wall. My wife's 4runner will fit with about 8" to spare and still leave room to have a workbench and access the vehicle.

Which one do you have? Don't those kill switches kill the power to your clock which I bet would be a pain to reset every time?

The only thing worse than vehicles being stolen is the amount of equipment being stolen off jobsites.

A friend is building in the heights and they had to put up a gate around the house and have a security guard there 24/7.

we've had more equipment stolen in the past 3 years than we had in the previous 37 years combined.

Generators and welders and such? Or lower cost stuff like ladders?

I had the Trackhawk killswitch installed. It doesn't disconnect the battery, so no clock issues. It just disconnects the starter when it's enabled.

My neighbor's F-250 was stolen from his driveway in Timbergrove last night using this method. The thieves immediately disabled FordPass. HPD showed up to make a report and told him zero chance of recovery.

How do you offload something like this. You can't pull up to your crappy apartment in that. Nobody is buying a Rolls on Ebay. Rolls owners aren't buying chopped parts.

So I got a replacement truck and just got the Trackhawk kill switch installed on my truck. So far I like it but wish it had a little functionality. For example it would be nice if I can schedule commands to kill and disable the switch at certain times of the day.

The Trackhawk wiring kit is buried inside the engine compartment and you can kill the vehicle from your phone. Onstar is very easy to disable and you have to call someone to report out the location of your vehicle
