Greedy ass suburban builders don't help. 3k SF house, and here is a garage fit for 2 mini coopers and a small work station.
Our old house had a small garage, but I was able to get my Frontier and my wife's Edge in. We moved to a house that was built in '97 and has a detached garage, and it's huge. Tons more room in front and on the sides. I'm guessing the detached are often a bit larger.

F all this noise. Truck theft is Allstates problem. Park in the driveway. The garage is reserved for the workbench, tool box, golf cart, bikes, coolers, deep freezer, beer fridge, camping and fishing gear. I am guessing you garage parkers don't do much that requires gear.
I have all that except for a deep freezer in our garage. I do have our old inside fridge/freezer in my garage. Still park both cars in it. I keep golf clubs in the house with how hot it gets in the garage in the summer. Also have a ping pong table and keep garbage cans inside the garage.

I have a three car tandem garage but we cannot get either the wife's Highlander or my F150 in because the builder put a big fat post in to make a two door garage. The Highlander has less than a centimeter clearance between the post and wall so it would be a huge pain in the ass to park in there. The F150 is also too wide. Height would be tight as well.

Dang. How wide is the highlander? Our old house had 2 doors and we were able to get the Edge (was a wide vehicle to me) in no problem, but we parked it on the side so the driver's door opened to the other car's stall, and I backed my Frontier in.

I believe this happened to my neighbor just yesterday. They think it is the stealing the code from the key fob in the house. AT4 Silverado as well. Is this a Chevy/GMC thing?

Didn't get my RAM, but I am putting my key fob in a metal box and the spare wrapped in foil until I can get some of those Faraday sleeves.

Thieves suck.

It''s a GM thing

thieves download an app off the dark web, intercept the signal between your FOB and vehicle, phone becomes new fob, open door, pop hood, rip out computer module, close hood, and drive off. Takes less thank 90 seconds and no outside physical damage.

The old school steering wheel bar locks are making a come back because it is so easy to use technology to steal them

My new At4 was stolen in April, had it for 9 days.

Can't thieves hack your garage door opener now?

In typical Texags fashion, this thread has devolved into a D measuring contest of people's garage organization skills.

Still able to get an Accord and Odysseus in there no problem.
Then you definitely don't have to worry about auto theft

Mine's organized, but it ain't pretty. In fact, I'm ashamed about how horrible it looks. Now, if I could just keep my wife and kids out of it...

His death hit me hard, bro. Had to hang up my axe and go back to boring ass day job as a championship-winning strength coach. All those rings are nice, but rings can't bring back a friend. Unless they have the infinity stones.

Seems like at least once a day I see a straight up hoodlum driving what looks like a brand new shiny AT4 or similar truck, which I am assuming are probably $70k at a minimum? I always wonder in the back of my mind if they got it legitimately. Is there a way to change VIN #?

I saw you on one of the original threads when I went a lookin earlier. They still amuse me every couple of years or so.

Convincing the politics board lawyers that he was a female FBI agent in Pennsylvania who chose their renowned forum as an outlet for his/her leaks was the blue ribbon winner, though.

The hacking/cloning tool is very easy to find online. Amazon was forced to quit selling them, but not other sites.

It can clone key fobs, garage door openers, credit cards, card readers (like on secure buildings like schools, government buildings, offices) and a bunch of other things.

I have a Ravelco in my current truck and one in my last. I know they are pricey and a little bit of a pain when it comes to remote starting, but at the same time getting my truck stolen and having to deal with all of that would be a bigger hassle.

My neighbors son had his truck stolen just last weekend from Montrose/Washington area in Houston. Parked it on the street. Brand new Chevy pickup truck. There must be a ring of these guys running around town.

Hate to say it, but it's society today especially in big cities. When Police/DA's/Politicians don't care about teens doing smash and grabs, then its the slippery slope to bigger crimes. Pretty soon car theft will be a slap on the wrist a few months in jail, if not already. So who cares if you steal a car, you don't go to jail anymore.

How are they moving these trucks? You can't really sell it to the public. You can't insure it. Are they chopping all these up? If so, how are they selling the parts? Ebay? 1, 2 trucks, okay. 20-30 trucks a month is a huge amount of work to chop up and sell the parts online. They running them to mexico?

They've learned how to clone key fobs. They drive around and can scan from the street.

We have gate on our driveway
Is this really how most of these are happening, though? Don't get me wrong, I know it does happen.

But in situations like the OP's, I feel like it's not cloned key fobs. If it did, wouldn't they just unlock the truckand disable the alarm?

It's always the exact same, and really common with GMs......they cut the horn, break in, alarm is going off but no audio so no attention (I know a few people who had it happen to them and they even got emails from On Star but not like an email at 4 am will wake you up), in the car for a few minutes, drive off, disable On Star.

And everyone I know who's had it happen turned around and bought the exact same car (Silverado, Tahoe, etc.) so what's the incentive for the manufacturer to fix it?

I have a 3 car garage that holds my wife's Yukon, workbench with tools, golf cart, several bikes and my trash cans. Also I converted my single car into a home gym. I'm content with leaving my vehicle in the driveway, just need to add more security

I second it. 2nd truck with it on and honestly I missed not having it when I changed trucks. It became 2nd nature. Also a good piece of mind for trucks that are getting so crazy expensive.
