It started about 10 minutes ago and sounds like it's coming from south of the Heights.

Yeah that was ridiculous. Very expensive and loud display. Hope no one was out walking their dogs thinking a Saturday 10/28 night would be firework free like an idiot.

There's really no other possibility than fireworks. Either that or we somehow ended up in Gaza.

Could see a few of them going off from Timbergrove. Definitely fireworks.

We were wondering in Timbergrove area.

Looks like there may have been some Day of the Dead or Diwali festivals, but I could t see anything to guess where it was.

Yes. They were visible.

If it is true that this was a secret ROCC firework show that they didn't announce to keep away the non country clubbers I would be fully okay with them being sued. Launching probably hundred thousand $s of fireworks into the middle of a major urban city with no press release ahead of time on October 28th is simply unacceptable.

r/houston cracked the case: there were two different events. One at ROCC, one at City Hall. Which might explain why my friends were pointing in different directions for where it was coming from.

How the Chronicle, and it's garbage paywall are still in business is beyond me. You can't look at any of their articles without the stupid pop-up. You'd figure that with no one but old people subscribing to the actual paper, that some ad revenue generated from the website might be a good thing.
