Friends in town for my wife's birthday weekend and our plans for Saturday fell through! We're scouring the internet for something low key to do tomorrow before our dinner plans… would really appreciate suggestions if you have a go-to Houston activity???

You talking about like a dancing bear kinda thing? I mean, something could probably be arranged, but it's going to take a little doing on such short notice.

Go sightseeing on Bissonnet. Lots of local culture to take in there.

We're a laid back, country folk crowd. People watching, Costco/HEB and a good hamburger would be a good day. We have special plans for birthday stuff but today is just about spending time with our friends.
I think we're gonna hit the old Canino's market, El Bollio and then maybe something else. Going to Kiran's for dinner so that'll be fun… Our friends have never had Indian food.

Great choice! Went to Kiran's for the first time not too long ago and it was excellent.
Us too! We love Indian food and enjoy a small place close to us but found ourselves down near Kiran's one night and gave it a shot understanding it's a little pricier than your average curry spot. We were very impressed, though while not bad, the naan at our local spot is significantly better.
You can come swim in my pond and catch as many turtles as you can hold. Probably right up your country alley.

I took my wife and adult daughter here last week and it was scary. A bunch of thug looking people throughout the entire mall and we did not feel safe. No measures to reduce covid spread and no security. We had several of these thugs make degrading comments to us so we left without buying a thing. Also saw several car break ins and I would not recommend leaving your car unguarded. We will NOT be returning."
