My son is moving from an apartment in Rice Military area to a town home in the Heights area. It's not a huge move since he doesn't have a lot of stuff (bedroom, small living room/dinning/kitchen). Anyone know of good, reliable, honest movers? Also, he will need to store his stuff for a few days before townhouse is ready.

3 men movers. Cheaper if reserved Tues-Thur. Get the morning slot. I've had all good experiences.

We asked 3 people who moved recently and all 3 had solid reviews for 3 men movers. So we have them scheduled.

Opted to pack ourselves vs. having them come two days to save a few $$ but everyone had good reviews on their packing as well.

Not the OP but we chose 3 men movers based on suggestions here and via friends. They were great. Zero complaints, they were more careful with our stuff and helped with more than I expected. For example, we had a large safe bolted down and they unbolted and moved it for us. I didn't think they'd touch it because of the weight.

One thing I'll say is try to get the first slot. We had a morning slot, also did a weekday which was nice (and cheaper), and pretty sure by default they assign crews to do two moves. The guys walked our house then called their boss and said they weren't going to make the other house that day. So I could see people trying for later slots getting pushed a lot.

Putting a plug in for Square Cow. They moved my parents in November and us in December and we used them again to move some stuff into an apartment. They are polite, conscientious, and efficient.

We had a great experience with JP Urban Moving Company. They packed all our stuff and moved it without issues (including the piano which played a great role when we were choosing exactly this company). Everything was done fast and at a reasonable price. Moreover, they helped us dispose of old furniture items we didn't want to take to a new place.
