This is why people hate the freaking bikers. Holding up traffic on Yale when there are bike lanes on Heights. Taking up all of White Oak when the bike lanes are on 11th. Blowing through red lights.

I hate cyclists as much as the next guy, but the first picture doesn't seem to show them blocking traffic. I see a motorcycle and maybe a truck/trailer still in the intersection.

It's even worse at night in Downtown. Houston spent millions to make bike lanes, made traffic even more horrific. And for what? For people to still ride all over the streets and causing accidents. Sure glad I don't live in that god forsaken hell hole.

This. If bikes could at least go the speed limit, I wouldn't have much of a problem. But if a car or motorcycle was doing 15-20mph in a 45 I'd be just as annoyed. It's not so much the bikes as it is the inconvenience and "F everyone else" mentality. The full body spandex doesn't really bother me anymore...look it's 2023, i don't care about your sexuality...just don't approach my children dressed like that or try to groom them into the LGBTCycling community and we've got no problems.Ol_Ag_02 said:Cromagnum said:

I used to drive through the Rice Military neighborhood on my way home from work a few years ago. If I had a dollar for every time I had to slam on my brakes to avoid splattering one of those Eurotrash wannabes running stop signs I'd be retired on a white sand beach somewhere right now.
Road ways are for motorized vehicles. Period. Stop. Amen. Pope blessings and everything. Using them for a recreational activity like biking is akin to setting up a card table and assembling a jigsaw puzzle in the middle of Westheimer. It's ludicrous. We have bike lanes, parks and walking paths for this if they don't want to obey traffic laws.
Slower traffic keeps as far right as possible
Maintain speeds that comply with both maximum and minimum speed limits
You must stop at stop signs and traffic lights
Yield to oncoming traffic when turning across lanes
Signal when turning
Don't be surprised when some idiot smashes into you
Carry liability insurance incase you plow into another vehicle
Hold a license to operate the vehicle
Ensure your vehicle is inspected and permitted by the overreaching government to ensure everyone's safety
Pay your road taxes
If you can't do those things, you don't get to use the road ways.

Can't legally turn left onto 11th from Heights.
Kidding, I take heights to 11th on the e bike but I stick to the mkt or white oak trail on normal bikes.

Because instead of multiple cars rolling through that green light like normal, 2 cars and a pack of dongs on wheels rolled through, limiting the normal number that should have gone through the intersection.
So yes...holding up traffic.
