Not to spoil the other two posters good times, but I've never had a flight attendant turn down a drink certificate for it being expired. Even a year plus.

Also heard via the SWA reddit that apparently the drink coupon program has been put on a hiatus. Explains why I haven't received any in a while since it was 4 coupons for every 10 paid legs.
Same. And when they do, I always act surprised and that I have no idea where I would even keep a coupon or credit card.

I have one in my wallet that expired in 2014 and I'm holding off on using it til it's a decade old.
I've had one attendant comment on an expired pass, but he gave me the drink and ended up comping a second one later.

I saw an expired coupon get rejected last year. The explanation was that SW was tightening enforcement of the rules. May have just been a curmudgeon FA hired over from Delta.
everytime I try to use one they just give it to me anyway and dont' collect the coupon.

They used to put the exp date on the very bottom. I'd just get scissors and cut that little trim off and never had issues
