We lost a 55'+ water oak that fell over at the roots. Need it cut into pieces, hauled away, and stump ground.

Also have another large water oak still standing that now has a crack in the trunk that wasn't there before. Want to take it down before it falls.

Couple of other small dead trees as well.

Anyone have someone they used that did a great job?

I'm not sure there's a stump to grind.

Yeah, my back can't handle dragging this to the front yard. The root base and stump are probably 12' high. I don't have anything for scale in the picture, but it's a HUGE tree. We have two 55-60' trees we're trying to get taken down, plus 4 other "dead" trees. I don't think we can leave that much at the curb for the county to drag off in any realistic time frame before HOA starts screaming and/or it kills my grass.

My FIL is in Tomball. I'll see who he used. They had one fall (very similar pic to yours) and he got quotes from $3-4k. Theirs fell on 6/8 when that high wind came through.

Yikes!!! Yes, definitely please let me know. So far I've been quoted $6k - $6800 for the one tree plus taking another large one down that's still standing (but is now cracked right down the middle).

I only wish ours had taken out our sago palms as well. I despise them and previous homeowners had SEVENTEEN of them throughout our backyard.

He used international tree service (832 883-1839) but said he would probably use a guy named Cameron. Cameron spoke better English.

We've used Texas Tree Elite for trimming in the past and have been pleased. Never did anything major where I felt like comparison shopping, but always was able to haggle a bit.

I had a big water oak uproot and lost a couple pines in last week's storm in the Woodlands. I got 3 quotes ranging from $3k to $5k. Francisco Herrera/Space City Tree Service was the best price and did a great job. I asked for their COI and it checked out. 346-810-9559 ask for Jose

I just paid $2k for a water oak much bigger than that. Only difference … I did not have them grind the stump because it sits on my water line. (I didn't plant it … it's 70 years old). Living Trees & Shrubs 713.464.8733. Ask for Doug. I've used his guys for years and they do a great job.
