Ain't rumors. Directly from the ongoing investigation,

I misread your post actually. Thought you were insinuating something I guess. I get it.

Carry on

Was he a runner? Early morning runs are quite common for those doing long distances. I used to leave my house at 430 AM to meet other runners at 5 AM.

I don't know him personally but we have some facebook friends in common and my wild ass guess is that he developed an addiction to painkillers after suffering what appears to have been a significant injury in Feb '22.

Hoping for the best.

6'1" and 220 lb. I think we can rule out a long distance morning run.

Dude could'a peaced out and caught an early flight out of IAH.

Could be in Mexico City enjoying street tacos while awaiting transport to La Paz where he will start a new life.

Not really. Did a long of ultras in my time. Slow and steady is seen a lot in the trail running community.

These aren't 5ks and marathon speeds.

Maybe he's got enough BTC stashed to last a long while in SA.

6'1 and 215-220 is my endurance weight so I don't think you can rule that out. 220-235 when strength training and 235-260 when just fat

But yeah it's slow and steady at 220, 6-8 minute miles

///

Hah posted this and forgot, in no means was i talking about an ultra! 8 mins I'd consider great in a half!

"Slow and steady" 6min miles for an ultra

Definitely a plausible scenario but then why torch the car? Seems like he could have just left it in some random area and it would have taken longer to find.

FYI. Admins on that site closed the thread about the disappearance. No idea what their rules are or why. Interesting, hope it means he was found alive.

No need to be a dip***** Just pointing out that we shouldn't rule it out.

This is twice now in a couple of weeks that a dude from Houston disappeared and the leading theory is that he went for a run.

Which theories is it safe for we Internet detectives to rule out at this point? I don't want us to waste time and we aren't going to crack this case running down stale leads

No new leads as far as I know. Some good information in the linked thread, but not new information, and definitely doesn't help finding him.

I didn't start this thread looking for conspiracy theories or anything like that. Just want to find my friend. I don't know if the EquuSearch people are done, but the searches aren't over. Someone somewhere had to have seen something. As far as I know, Brett is not a runner or biker. Thank you again for any and all help/prayers.

  • Careful to release info in ongoing investigation
  • Info that it was pre-planned and not foul play, but not certain
  • Now taking questions
